The X-BOW FMA Supersonic XL AR-15 combines the extremely compact 120 lbs Supersonic compound platform with an AR-15-style shoulder stock. This provides more shoulder support and a more stable shooting position than the stockless Supersonic Basic while retaining the exceptionally narrow and compact Supersonic front end.
With a 120 lbs draw weight and speeds of up to 330 FPS, depending on the bolt used, this Supersonic delivers serious compound performance in a remarkably compact platform. Its integrated cable and lever cocking system also reduces the force the shooter actually needs to apply during cocking.
The XL AR-15 is particularly attractive if you want to combine the compact dimensions of the Supersonic with defined shoulder support and a more stable shooting position. The AR-15-style stock adds control while aiming without sacrificing the exceptionally narrow Supersonic compound front end. If minimum overall size is the priority, the stockless Supersonic Basic is the more logical choice.
The Supersonic XL AR-15 uses the same compact 120 lbs Supersonic compound front end as the other Supersonic configurations. Power stroke is approximately 7 inches / 17.8 cm. Actual velocity depends significantly on the type and weight of Supersonic bolt used.
The maximum 330 FPS figure therefore applies to the lighter High Range bolts. Heavier High Impact bolts travel at a lower velocity. Do not choose bolts based on maximum FPS alone: select the correct bolt for the intended application and only use bolts suitable for the X-BOW FMA Supersonic.
The key difference from the Supersonic Basic is the AR-15-style shoulder stock. It extends the platform to the rear and creates a defined shoulder support point, allowing the crossbow to be held more steadily against the shoulder and making a repeatable shooting position easier to achieve.
The design fits the Supersonic concept well: combining an exceptionally compact compound platform with sufficient support for controlled shoulder-supported aiming.
Some suppliers also refer to this configuration as the Supersonic XL L-Stock; this is the same AR-15-style shoulder stock.
The Supersonic features an integrated cable and lever cocking system. This mechanically draws the string into its cocked position without the need to attach a separate rope cocking device for every shot.
Although the nominal draw weight is 120 lbs, the force actually required during cocking is substantially lower. The integrated cocking system is therefore an important practical advantage of the Supersonic platform.
The Supersonic compound front end measures approximately 5 inches / 12.7 cm axle-to-axle when cocked and around 7.9 inches / 20.1 cm uncocked. This exceptionally narrow profile makes the Supersonic easy to handle and clearly differentiates it from conventional full-size recurve and compound crossbows.
The adjustable front grip allows the support-hand position to be adapted to the shooter. A 19 mm mounting rail provides a mounting point for a compatible red dot or other suitable aiming device.
The different configurations use the same compact Supersonic platform but offer different shoulder-stock solutions:
The XL AR-15 is therefore particularly attractive if you want more stability than the Basic provides while preferring a straightforward and functional shoulder configuration.
