Steambow AR-Series Stinger Target – specifically developed for short Stinger bolts

The Steambow AR-Series Stinger Crossbow Target is a compact, double-sided target specifically developed for short crossbow bolts. This makes it an interesting specialist choice for Steambow AR-Series models as well as other compact crossbow systems using comparable short bolts of approximately 6.5 inches.

Steambow designed the construction to stop these short bolts effectively without allowing them to penetrate unnecessarily deep into the target. This helps prevent the vanes from reaching the target surface. Measuring only 47 x 47 x 9 cm, the target is also easy to position, move and store.

Specialist target for short crossbow bolts

Short crossbow bolts can place different demands on a target than conventional 16, 18 or 20-inch crossbow bolts. This is precisely the type of application for which Steambow developed this target.

Although specifically designed around the AR-Series Stinger, the principle is not brand-specific. It is therefore also an interesting choice for comparable short approximately 6.5-inch crossbow bolts as used by various compact and repeating crossbow systems.

The front features nine individual aiming points, allowing impacts to be distributed across the surface during repeating fire. The reverse features one large central aiming point. Using both sides and different aiming points also helps distribute wear across the target.

Up to 120 lbs MAGNUM – what does this mean in practice?

Steambow states that the target can be used with its AR-Series configurations up to and including the 120 lbs MAGNUM setup. The manufacturer does not recommend this target for more powerful configurations.

This 120 lbs classification is specifically related to the Steambow AR-Series and the corresponding bolts. It should therefore not be regarded as a general 120 lbs or FPS stopping guarantee for every other crossbow and bolt combination.

Actual penetration is also influenced by factors including speed, bolt weight and diameter, point type, shooting distance and target condition. Particularly with short crossbow bolts, differences in construction and weight can noticeably affect penetration.
