Description

Rolan Snake II Junior – a durable bow

The Rolan Snake II Junior 50" 16 lbs is a particularly durable and easy-to-use recurve bow for young archers who want more than a basic toy or recreational bow.

Its one-piece composite construction, moderate draw weight and integrated arrow shelves make it an excellent platform for learning proper archery fundamentals.

The Snake is widely used as a simple and durable training bow for recreation, clubs, schools and introductory archery programmes. JVD describes the 50" model as youth-friendly, comfortable and easy to handle.

Recommended for approximately 7 to 12 years

This version measures 50 inches / approx. 127 cm and has a 16 lbs draw weight.

It is primarily suitable for children and young beginners aged approximately 7 to 12 years. Age is only a guideline: height, arm length, strength and especially draw length ultimately determine whether a bow fits correctly.

The maximum recommended draw length for the 50" Snake is 26 inches.

This gives the Snake II considerably more room for developing young archers than very small children's bows, while its moderate 16 lbs draw weight helps encourage correct shooting technique.

Ambidextrous – for left- and right-handed archers

The Rolan Snake II is fully ambidextrous. Its grip features an integrated arrow shelf on both sides, allowing the same bow to be used by left- and right-handed archers.

This is particularly practical for a first youth bow because there is no need to choose a separate left- or right-handed model.

Extremely durable one-piece construction

The Snake II is manufactured as a single piece from strong polymer composite material. There are no separate limbs, limb bolts or other connections that can loosen during normal recreational use.

The construction is lightweight, low-maintenance and resistant to moisture and outdoor conditions. This makes it particularly suitable for children, training, clubs and recreational use where a bow needs to withstand regular handling.

Integrated arrow shelves

The grip incorporates an arrow shelf on both sides. No separate plastic arrow rest needs to be installed or replaced.

This fits the philosophy of the Snake II particularly well: few vulnerable or adjustment-sensitive components, allowing beginners to focus on stance, draw, anchor and release.

Includes carbon arrows and protection

This Boogschietshop starter package is more complete than the standard bare Snake II bow and includes:

  • 1 × Rolan Snake II Junior recurve bow
  • 1 × Dacron bowstring with finger protection
  • 3 × Avalon full-carbon arrows
  • 1 × arm guard
  • 1 × target face

Thanks to the finger protection fitted to the string, a separate finger tab is not immediately required for normal recreational use.

An archery target is not included, allowing you to choose a target that best suits the available space and intended use.

Can also be used with safety arrows

For low-threshold recreational shooting, the Snake II can also be combined with suitable Archery Tag / foam safety arrows.

This can be an attractive option where additional safety is more important than traditional target shooting. With suitable foam-head arrows, a conventional archery target is not essential, although a sufficiently large and safe shooting area remains necessary.

A real beginner's bow, not a toy

Although the 16 lbs draw weight is deliberately moderate, the Rolan Snake II is a real archery bow. The supplied carbon arrows use conventional target points and can cause injury.

Children should therefore always shoot under adult supervision. Only shoot towards a suitable target and ensure sufficient clear and safe space behind and around the shooting area.

Regularly inspect the bow, string and arrows. Never shoot a damaged carbon arrow.

Who is the Rolan Snake II Junior for?

The Snake II is particularly suitable for children who genuinely want to learn archery and for whom a basic recreational children's set would be too limited.

Within our junior range we position it as the more serious and durable beginner option:

Panda-R: affordable recreational entry-level bow.
Eleven Junior: compact complete recreational set including target.
Rolan Snake II Junior: durable youth/beginner bow for learning proper technique and continued development.
