The Oak Ridge Mongo is a versatile, one-piece hybrid bow combining the classic appearance of a traditional longbow with characteristics of a modern recurve bow. Its distinctive limb geometry, attractive wooden construction and comfortable draw make it an appealing choice for beginner and recreational archers.
With a bow length of 60", the Mongo offers a practical balance between manoeuvrability and shooting comfort. It is also suitable for both left- and right-handed archers, making it an interesting option for families, archery clubs and other situations where several archers share the same bow.
At first glance, the Oak Ridge Mongo closely resembles a traditional longbow. Its subtly shaped limbs, however, reveal its hybrid design. This combination provides classic styling with modern limb geometry.
The riser is made from Dymondwood, while the limbs feature bamboo reinforced with clear fibreglass. The transparent reinforcement allows the natural wood grain to remain visible, giving the Mongo its distinctive traditional appearance.
One of the Mongo's most practical features is its ambidextrous design. Thanks to its symmetrical shape and arrow rests on both sides, the bow can be used by both left- and right-handed archers.
This makes the Mongo suitable not only as a personal bow, but also for families and archery clubs where several people may want to use the same equipment. Naturally, the selected draw weight must be appropriate for each individual archer.
The Oak Ridge Mongo is available in five draw weights: 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 lbs. This allows you to choose a version that suits your experience, physical ability and personal draw length.
If you are new to archery, it is advisable to choose a draw weight that allows you to draw the bow fully without excessive effort. This makes it easier to concentrate on good posture and controlled shooting technique.
Actual draw weight depends on your individual draw length and may differ from the manufacturer's stated value. A higher draw weight is not automatically a better choice, particularly for beginners.
