The EK Archery REVO 7 Tactical is a modern 7-shot repeating crossbow developed specifically around fast and fluid repeat shooting. It combines a removable magazine with EK Archery's unique Pivoting Front Lever: a hinged front cocking lever that allows the crossbow to be re-cocked quickly after every shot while preparing the next bolt.
This version is supplied with the 90 lbs recurve front end, for which EK Archery specifies approximately 235 FPS with the standard 142-grain carbon bolt. The real strength of the REVO 7, however, is not FPS alone: rapid cycling, quick-change magazines, compact dimensions and interchangeable front ends make it one of the most versatile repeater platforms available.
The REVO 7 combines a removable 7-shot magazine with a purpose-designed Pivoting Front Lever cocking system. This creates a very short operating cycle: shoot, operate the front lever, acquire the target again and fire.
The system is also highly modular. EK Archery offers interchangeable 30, 60, 90 and 120 lbs front ends. The standard 90 lbs configuration combines relatively smooth operation with 235 FPS and therefore offers a strong balance between shooting speed and performance.
Key compromise: the REVO 7 is mechanically more sophisticated, heavier and significantly more expensive than a simple repeater such as the Sobek. The Sobek is the more straightforward choice for compact and affordable 7-shot shooting, while the REVO 7 offers a much faster magazine concept, removable magazines and substantially greater modularity.
The key technical difference from many other repeaters is the Pivoting Front Lever Design. Systems such as the Adder use a large underlever beneath the crossbow. With the REVO 7, the front section itself pivots to perform the cocking action.
This design was developed to make the cocking stroke short, smooth and rapidly repeatable. Combined with the magazine, it creates a very direct cycle between successive shots and defines the REVO 7's dynamic shooting character.
The REVO 7 uses a spring-loaded 7-shot Speed Magazine. Unlike the fixed magazine used by systems such as the Cobra RX Adder, the complete REVO 7 magazine can be removed from the crossbow.
An empty magazine can therefore be replaced by a pre-loaded spare magazine. This reduces interruption not only between the first seven shots, but also when the magazine itself needs to be reloaded.
EK Archery developed the magazine and front-lever system specifically around very fast cycling. Practical shooting speed naturally depends on experience, technique and safe operation.
This REVO 7 is supplied with the standard 90 lbs recurve front end. With the standard 142-grain carbon bolt, EK Archery specifies approximately 235 FPS and 17.42 ft-lbs / 23.61 J of kinetic energy.
The 90 lbs front end is deliberately not the maximum-performance configuration. Instead, it provides the balance that keeps the front-lever fast to operate while offering considerably more performance than many lighter pistol-style repeaters.
One of the REVO 7's strongest features is its Quick-Change Limb System. EK Archery offers dedicated front ends in 30, 60, 90 and 120 lbs.
This allows one base platform to be adapted to different shooting priorities and makes the REVO 7 particularly attractive for users who value modularity and upgradeability.
Despite its shoulder stock and full repeating mechanism, the REVO 7 remains relatively compact. Base length is approximately 22.4 inches / 56.9 cm. Width is approximately 17 inches / 43.2 cm uncocked and 15.75 inches / 40.0 cm cocked.
Bow-only weight is approximately 6.83 lbs / 3.10 kg. This makes the REVO 7 noticeably heavier than a compact Sobek, but that additional weight comes with its more substantial magazine, cocking mechanism and shoulder-supported platform.
The complete package includes an adjustable AR-style buttstock with buffer tube, allowing the shoulder fit to be adapted to the shooter and preferred shooting position.
An aluminium red dot sight is also supplied as standard. This matches the REVO 7's intended character well: rapid target acquisition and dynamic shooting at short to medium range.
The REVO 7 features a Trigger Safety System and Anti-Dry Fire. EK Archery specifies a trigger pull of approximately 3.5 lbs / 1.6 kg.
Anti-Dry Fire helps prevent the crossbow from being fired without a correctly positioned bolt. It remains an additional safeguard: correct operation and suitable REVO 7 bolts are still essential.
EK Archery designed the REVO 7 so its main components can be disassembled quickly without tools. This makes storage and transport easier while supporting the modular concept of interchangeable front ends and accessories.
All three are 7-shot repeating crossbows, but they represent distinctly different concepts:
The REVO 7 is therefore not simply a more powerful Sobek or another version of the Adder. It is a distinct repeater concept optimised primarily around fast cycling and rapid readiness for the next shot.
The REVO 7 uses dedicated 6.5-inch / 16.5 cm carbon crossbow bolts with half-moon nocks. The standard bolt for the 90 lbs configuration weighs approximately 142 grains.
Only use bolts specifically suitable for the REVO 7 and its magazine. EK Archery also offers heavier REVO 7 bolts for heavier front-end configurations. Matching length alone is not sufficient: nock design, diameter, fletching, point and total weight must also be correct.
