EK ARCHERY COBRA R9 BASIC | 90 lbs Modular Crossbow

The EK Archery Cobra R9 Basic is much more than a large pistol crossbow. It is the compact foundation of EK Archery's modular R9/RX/Adder platform. In this Basic configuration the R9 is used without a shoulder stock, giving you a relatively compact 90 lbs crossbow with integrated underlever cocking, Anti-Dry-Fire protection and extensive accessory mounting options.

One of the defining features of the R9 is its integrated underlever cocking system. The long lever underneath the crossbow provides substantial mechanical advantage, making the 90 lbs limb considerably easier to cock than with a traditional manual cocking method. No separate cocking aid is required.

With speeds up to approximately 220 FPS and kinetic energy of approximately 24 joules, the R9 provides ample performance for recreational and target shooting without making maximum power the primary objective. The real strength of the R9 Basic lies in its combination of cocking comfort, modularity, compact storage and upgrade potential.

Integrated underlever: comfortable and practical

The long lever underneath the R9 is used to cock the crossbow. Its mechanical advantage significantly reduces the effort required during the cocking movement. Once cocked, the lever folds back against the underside of the crossbow. The cocking mechanism therefore remains part of the crossbow and does not need to be carried or fitted separately.

Picatinny rails for a red dot and accessories

The R9 features multiple Picatinny rails, allowing the standard sighting arrangement to be upgraded with a compatible optic such as a red dot. Additional mounting positions are available for suitable accessories. These mounting options are an important part of the modular R9 concept.

Quick disassembly and compact storage

Another major advantage of the R9 system is its quick-removable front end. The bow assembly can be separated from the main body without complicated disassembly. This considerably reduces the amount of space required for storage and transport, making the R9 interesting for users who want a more substantial crossbow system without permanently having the dimensions of a traditional full-size crossbow.

R9 platform: more than one configuration

The R9 was developed as a modular R-Series platform. EK Archery offers a range of compatible components and configuration options. Buying the Basic therefore does not require you to decide immediately what the final crossbow should look like. You can start compact and later adapt the system to your preference for shoulder support, optics and accessories.
